CP3 and Wemby were up to no good.

The pair of San Antonio Spurs got busted on Saturday night for trying to find a loophole in the NBA Skills Challenge.

The duo tried to manipulate the skills challenge, that consisted of passing, shooting, and agility drills resembling an obstacle course, in their favor.

But it ended up backfiring in their face.

Paul and Wembanyama thought they could game the system by quickly chucking up shots that had no chance of going in, in order to get a faster time.

The rule stated that if you missed three shots in a row, you automatically moved on; so the pair tried to get away with just flinging the balls rapidly in the vicinity of the hoop, without a genuine effort, to advance.

It was a ridiculous visual and the crowd wasn't having any of it.

And neither was NBA commissioner Adam Silver and the NBA.

The boos rained down on the two Spurs, who were quickly notified that they had been disqualified.

Team Spurs was officially disqualified for failing to make a "valid effort" on their jump shots.

A rules official came over to them to inform them that they were out.

"I talked to everyone; you guys are disqualified," the official said.

"That’s fine," Paul replied.

"We are what?" Wembanyama asked.

“Disqualified," Paul answered.

After the event Paul was asked what their strategy was.

He was short and sweet.

"We tried something that we thought we could win," Paul said.

"To see if we (could have) the best time. It was fun."

Wembanyama insisted that it was his idea to bend the rules in their favor.

The winners of the NBA Skills Challenge were a pair of Cleveland Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley.

Silver and the NBA have tried to raise the overall intensity of All-Star Weekend, but have had to face an uphill battle.

And so far, not much has changed.
