Manchester United have endured a stuttering start to the new Premier League season, and will have their work cut out for them on Saturday afternoon against a strong Brighton side.
Erik ten Hag's side have lost two of their opening four matches so far, with those defeats coming in both of their away games which both came in North London, first 2-0 to Tottenham, then 3-1 to Arsenal in their last match before last weekend's international break.
Despite having won both of their home games so far this season, the Red Devils haven't impressed in either of them, firstly being dominated for the majority of the game in a 1-0 win over a Wolves side widely backed to be relegated this season.
Their next home game against Nottingham Forest where Man United found themselves 2-0 down inside five minutes but did manage to turn the game around a snatch a 3-2 victory.
Those six points leaves Man United lying down in 11th place heading into the first weekend back from in the international period, and they'll be desperate to climb up the table this weekend with a positive result on Saturday.
Brighton have picked up where they left off last season, when they secured their highest ever league finish in the club's history, ending the campaign in sixth place and securing themselves a place in the Europa League for the first time ever.
Roberto de Zerbi's side have won three of their four matches so far this season, and are the league's highest scorers so far, averaging three goals per game.
The Seagulls kicked off the new season with impressive back to back 4-1 wins over Luton and Wolves, before hitting a blip as they were beaten 3-1 at home by West Ham but got back to winning ways with a comfortable 3-1 win against a well-fancied Newcastle side a fortnight ago.
Those nine points leaves Brighton in sixth place heading into the new weekend, and are just one point behind second-placed Tottenham and three off Manchester City at the top of the table.
Brighton managed to do the double over Manchester United in the league last season, meaning they have now won their last three Premier League games against the Red Devils, ending a run of seven defeats in a row in all competitions against them.
Brighton has not been a happy hunting ground for Manchester United, with the Red Devils winning only three of their last nine away matches against the Seagulls dating all the way back to 1982.
