Leeds v Preston preview

Leeds head into their home match with Preston on Sunday afternoon having won three matches on the spin, having comfortably beaten play-off hopefuls Cardiff 3-0 away from home in their most recent match last weekend.

Daniel Farke's side climbed into the Championship's top three just before Christmas was a shock 4-0 thrashing of second placed Ipswich, but couldn't follow that performance up with any authority as they lost their following to games to Preston and West Brom.

Back to back league wins since that defeat at the Hawthorns has cemented their place in fourth place in the table, where they lead the fifth placed Baggies by six points, while trailing third placed Southampton by four heading into the weekend.

The Whites have been formidable in front of their home fans this season though, winning seven of of their 11 games at Elland Road in all competitions this season, drawing the other four, whilst all winning six of their last seven.

Preston make the trip to West Yorkshire having just ended a losing streak which saw them fall down to 14th in the table, the lowest they've been in the standings all season, before their 2-0 home win over Bristol City last season saw them climb back into the top half.

Ryan Lowe has been under pressure in his role as manager, winning just two of his last 11 games prior to last weekend, and losing five of their last six in all competitions.

Facing a daunting away trip to Leeds will not be an ideal fixture for the under-fire manager, but last weekend's victory will at least have instilled some confidence in a side previously looking bereft of it.

The Lilywhites make the trip having lost their last three away games, picking up just one win in their last six on the road, but despite their unfavourable run of form and sitting 12th in the table, last weekend's victory leaves them only two points short of the play-offs.

Preston upset the odds to earn victory the last time the two sides met, as recently as Boxing Day, but were winless in their four previous meetings against Leeds, and haven't won a league game at Elland Road since 2010, and have won only one in 63 years.

📝 Leeds v Preston betting tips

Leeds have been formidable at home this season, beating high flying Ipswich 4-0 in their last match at Elland Road, and will be confident of securing another victory on Sunday as they look to close the gap on the top three ahead of them.

On the flip side, Preston lost their last away game 4-0 and have struggled on the road in recent weeks, not ideal preparation for an intimidating trip to Leeds, which also sees the fourth highest scorers in the league meet the fifth leakiest defence.

The odds for , their top scorer Crysencio Summerville to this season, and in the match are all interesting markets available on Betfred.
