Manchester United v West Ham preview

Manchester United head into Sunday afternoon's match having won back to back games for the first time since November after their dramatic 4-3 win over Wolves on Thursday night.

Kobbie Mainoo's 97th minute winner gave Erik ten Hag's side all three points and leaves them sitting in seventh place in the Premier League heading into the weekend, just a point behind their opponents on Sunday.

The Red Devils have now won three of their last four games in all competitions although only one of their last four matches at Old Trafford have ended in victory.

The Manchester side currently find themselves eight points behind the top four as they bid to string together a run of form in order to reach next season's Champions League, and a dominant win over another side with European aspirations would be a real statement of intent.

West Ham have found wins difficult to come by of late, so much so that they're winless in their last five games, with four of them ending as draws.

David Moyes' side are unbeaten in their last six Premier League matches, including a 2-0 home win over Manchester United, though the last three have all been stalemates which has seen them lose ground on the top five and their bid for a Europa League place next season.

There's currently a seven point gap between themselves in sixth and Aston Villa in fifth, who are level on points with fourth placed Tottenham, but a win at Old Trafford on Sunday would open up some breathing space between themselves and the teams below them.

The Hammers have lost only one of their last five away games in the league, and have won their last two matches against Manchester United which will give them confidence ahead of Sunday's match.

The east London side haven't won a league game at Old Trafford though in 17 years, losing 12 and drawing three of their matches there since.
