Both of Bournemouth's wins so far in 2024 have come in the FA Cup against Championship opposition, and the south coast side will be hoping to make it three in a row tonight in a competition which has come as a happy distraction to them in recent weeks.
Andoni Iraola's side are winless in their last seven Premier League fixtures since Boxing Day which has seen them fall to 14th in the table, sandwiched eight points clear of the bottom three and as many points shy of the top half of the table.
The Cherries will be hoping a return to facing Championship opposition, which has served them well in the FA Cup so far this season will see a return to winning ways as they eye just a second quarter final appearance in 67 years.
The Dorset side got past Championship strugglers QPR in the third round with a 3-2 win before thumping Swansea 5-0 win the last round, but tonight's runaway second tier leaders will bring a different and, much likely, bigger challenge.
Leicester make the trip to the south coast tonight with a six point lead at the top of the Championship, a position they've held since August as they bid to earn promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Enzo Maresca's side to head into their FA Cup fifth round tie in the midst of a slight wobble in form though, having lost each of their last two matches, falling to defeats against Middlesbrough and promotion rivals Leeds in the last two weeks.
The Foxes will be keen to test themselves against Premier League opposition tonight to gauge just how far they have come since last season's relegation from the top flight, and will be eager to keep their run going in a competition they won for the first time in 2021.
Leicester boast the best record away from home in the Championship this season, while only two teams in the Premier League have won fewer games in their home stadium than Bournemouth, who have won the last three meetings between the two sides.
