Alex Pereira takes a three-match winning streak into this weekend's title defence, his second since winning the vacant Light Heavyweight championship following victory against former champion Prochazka when the two met in November last year.

The Brazilian former UFC Middleweight champion holds a 10-2 record ahead of this weekend's bout following his most recent first round victory in a successful title defence against Jamahal Hill just 11 weeks ago.

The 36-year-old has won 11 of this last 12 fights over the last eight years, his only defeat in that time being in a rematch against Israel Adesanya in which he lost ownership of the middleweight title.

His challenger this weekend will be a familiar opponent, having already beaten Prochazka eight months ago in New York City by a second round TKO.

The former light heavyweight champion from Czech Republic is looking to regain the title he vacated in November 2022 after suffering a severe shoulder injury.

The 31-year-old got back to winning ways in his most recent fight, taking his record to 30-4-1 with a performance of the night second-round victory over Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 300 in Las Vegas back in April, the same night Pereira defended his title against Hill.
