Club Brugge vs Juventus predictions

Club Brugge will host Juventus in a huge Matchday 7 Champions League showdown.

Both teams are in with a chance of making the top eight of the new-format Champions League group. But both are likely to need maximum points from their remaining two fixtures if either are to make it to the Round of 16 without the need for the playoffs.

Starting with Brugge, the Blue-Black sit 19th with ten points from six matches. The Belgians have won three, drawn one and lost two.

The victories came against Sturm Graz (1-0), Aston Villa (1-0) and Sporting Lisbon (2-1). Brugge were held to a 1-1 draw by Celtic on Matchday 5, with the two defeats coming against Dortmund (3-0) and AC Milan (3-1).

Direct qualification for the Round of 16 will be difficult for Brugge. After their home tie against Juventus, they travel to England to face Manchester City on Matchday 8. Taking the maximum six points from those two fixtures would be difficult for any team.

Domestically, Nicky Hayen’s team are flying. The Blauw-Zwart sits second in the Belgian Pro League with 47 points from 22 matches.

Furthermore, they are on a 14-match unbeaten run in their domestic league. A 4-2 home defeat to Gent on Matchday 8 on September 22nd was the last time the Blauw-Zwart tasted defeat in their league championship.

In more recent times, Brugge has won four in a row since the start of 2025 in all competitions.

Cup wins over Leuven (3-0 in the quarter-final) and Gent (2-1 in the semi-final 1st leg) were followed by league wins over Anderlecht (3-0) on Matchday 21 and Beerschot (4-2) on Matchday 22, last Saturday.

Brugge will face a Juventus team fresh from a 2-0 win over AC Milan on Saturday evening, second-half strikes from Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula secured the three points.

The Old Lady are having a strange season in Italy. The positive is they are unbeaten in Serie A. The negative is they have only won eight from 21 in the league, drawing a staggering 13.

The draws have resulted in head coach Thiago Motta coming under pressure. His team is in 5th place on 37 points, 13 behind league leaders Napoli.

The win over Milan will be a huge relief for Motta. In Serie A, his team had drawn their previous three and seven of their last eight. And some of the stalemates came against lower league opposition. The three points really lifted a lot of the doom and gloom.

It’s a similar story of inconsistency in the Champions League. The Old Lady sits 14th in the table on 11 points. Juve have wins over PSV (3-1), Leipzig (3-2) and Manchester City (2-0). Their two draws came against LOSC (1-1) and Aston Villa (0-0). Juve’s loss came against Stuttgart (1-0) on Matchday 3.

After the match against Brugge, Juve will complete their Champions League group stage with a home tie against Benfica. Win in both fixtures may see the two-times winners make it directly to the Round of 16.

Club Brugge vs Juventus betting tips

Club Brugge are in better form domestically than Juventus, but the Champions League is a completely different beast.

A win here for Juventus and all of a sudden it could be a case of things starting to come together for the Old Lady.

We say that Juve will be too streetwise for the Belgian champions and are backing the visitors for the win. Read our Club Brugge vs Juventus betting tips below:

Juventus to win

It seems that whenever Juve head coach Thiago Motta is under real pressure, his team manages to deliver a result.

When Juve were in desperate need of a win against a misfiring Manchester City on Matchday 6 of the Champions League, Motta’s team produced a good performance and beat the 2023 Champions League winners 2-0.

Then in the league again on Saturday, La Vecchia Signora defeated an in-form AC Milan 2-0 at the Allianz Stadium to get the fans and media off Motta’s back, for now.

A place in the top 24 of the Champions League group is all but secured. But it would be a huge boost if they could qualify directly for the Round of 16.

We can see them taking qualification down to Matchday 8 by defeating Brugge.

Over 2.5 goals

Club Brugge has scored 51 goals in 22 matches. They have also conceded 26. Juve has scored 34 goals in 21 Serie A matches, conceding just 17.

Only once have Brugge drawn a blank this season, and that was on Matchday 2 of the campaign.

And with an average of 2.31 goals per game in the Belgian Pro League, we can see Brugge bringing their domestic form to this clash and finding the net against Juve.

But in the Champions League, Brugge’s results have suggested they struggle when they step up in class.

The Blauw-Zwart did beat Aston Villa 1-0, but Dortmund and Milan both put three past them while handing out comprehensive defeats.

We can see Juve scoring at least a couple against the Belgians. The match has a feel of 2-1 or 3-1 to the visitors about it.

Hans Vanaken to score or assist

Hans Vanaken warmed up for what could be Brugge’s biggest match of the season with two assists and a goal against Beerschot on Saturday.

Over the course of the season, the Blue-Black’s captain has scored six goals and provided nine assists in 22 league outings for Brugge.

If they are to cause a major upset and get something out of this match, then Vanaken could be the player to produce that piece of magic.
