Looking ahead to the new year, he made a case for Jake Paul to fight Conor McGregor, though he is not hopeful of it happening.

"This is a mega-fight and a really good fight as well, got to get the catchweight right in the middle, although Conor McGregor looks huge at the moment," Hearn told the .

"Conor McGregor; legend, Jake Paul; content legend - but a lot of fun putting the work in.

"I want to see Jake Paul against Conor McGregor, let's get it made - I can't say it's the top of my list of Christmas cheer here on DAZN, but a little bit of fun for the festive season."

UFC president Dana White has poured cold water on the suggestion that any of his fighters under contract will face YouTuber-turned boxer Paul, but Hearn thinks this one is the fight to make.

He also believes he has just the man for Deontay Wilder to return to in Derek Chisora, who most recently lost to Joseph Parker.

Wilder has suffered back-to-back defeats to Tyson Fury and will need to work his way back to the top if he hopes for any future title shot.

“Come on, [Chisora] is getting on a little bit, he's coming off three defeats on the spin now. Easy comeback fight for Deontay Wilder. Derek's ready.”

The Londoner's trainer, Dave Coldwell joked Hearn enjoyed one to many sherries at Christmas.

Elsewhere on the dream fights is a lightweight undisputed clash between George Kambosos Jr and Devin Haney.

Hearn is predicting big things from Conor Benn in 2022 and wants to book in a huge clash against Adrian Broner at the O2.

The promoter thinks it is time for Teofimo Lopez to move to 140lbs and the perfect opponent would be Montana Love.

And for Canelo Alvarez? Hearn wants to see the Mexican great become the undisputed champion at light heavyweight.

He said: “The great pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez. I know there’s talk about [Ilunga] Makabu, I know there’s talk about [Jermell] Charlo and [David] Benavidez, but for me I’d like to provide the gift of a straightforward route to the undisputed 175lbs world championship.

“Just made history as the first Latin American undisputed champion, the first super middleweight undisputed champion.

“I believe the great Canelo Alvarez can do it all over again at 175lbs.”
