Mike Tyson and Snoop Dogg reacted like proper fans when they met WWE legend Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts, DDP recalls

Even in his fifties, Mike Tyson may still be one of the scariest men walking the Earth, but even he can lose his mind when he meets one of his idols.

Iron Mike had a legendary boxing career that saw him become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and one of the most recognisable people on the planet.

But, Tyson has always had a soft spot for professional wrestling and he was a massive fan as a kid.

In his boxing heyday, Tyson even appeared in WWE and his influence was at its highest in 1998 when he refereed WrestleMania 14’s main event between Shawn Michaels and Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Many credit Tyson with helping WWE turn the tide against WCW in the Monday Night Wars and he still makes occasional appearances for AEW today.

talkSPORT recently caught up with Diamond Dallas Page (DDP) to discuss his new podcast ‘’ with Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts and an interesting story regarding his co-hosts star power arose.

Roberts was a huge star at the apex of his WWE run, initially from 1986 to 1992 and then again in 1996. Years later, after battling addiction many times, Roberts now appears semi-regularly on AEW TV as a manager for Lance Archer.

DDP says that was the company's executive, Cody Rhodes', idea, but in travelling with Roberts he has seen some pretty big stars starstruck by the legendary wrestler, including Snoop Dogg and Tyson.

“Him and Snoop, they came to the show to do something with AEW and when Snoop saw Jake, he said ‘Oh my god, that’s Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts over there!’ And Cody said, you forget how big you guys [the wrestling legends] are.

“They don’t normally say it to us like that, but Mike Tyson did. We saw Mike walking out of KTLA [TV station], he’d just done the news show and Jake and I were walking in. He saw me and was like ‘DDP!’ and gave me a huge hug. But then he saw Jake and he went crazy.

“Jake has been through some of the same stuff Mike has been through. He gave us a dual hug and he said ‘what you guys did with that documentary… Wow.’ Mike is a huge wrestling fan and Jake was one of his heroes, but still, it’s Mike Tyson!”
