Wladimir Klitschko joins Ukrainian reserve army amid threat of potential invasion from Russia, as Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko warns, ‘We have to prepare to take weapons in our hands’
Wladimir Klitschko has joined the Ukrainian reserve army and spoken out amid the current threat of an invasion from Russia.
The country are braced for a potential offensive after Russia assembled tens of thousands of troops near Ukraine's borders.

Russia deny having any plans to invade, but a diplomatic situation has emerged regardless.
Former heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko has now enlisted in the Ukrainian reserve army as a result, while his brother and fellow former champion Vitali Klitschko - who is now Mayor of Kiev - has issued warnings about the situation.
Wladimir told CNBC: "I signed up as a reserve for the territorial forces, for defending the city of Kiev.
"Because of everything that is currently going on around Ukraine. The aggression from the Russian side.
“For weeks if not months, there have been reports on how serious this is.

"One district from here, my little girl is going to school.
“The school is currently closed because the ambassadors have sent the families home.
“It is the love, the love for my city. It has brought me here today for the love of my home, family, neighbours, and daughter.
"I took this initiative. I am now taking part in this territorial defence.”
Vitali warned: "Before our enemies make an attack against Ukraine they have to see we are strong.
"They have to see how strong we will be, it will be a very painful price for everyone."
He added that he hopes a resolution will be found to, “Stop this aggression [in a] diplomatic way.
"If not, we have to prepare to take weapons in our hands."
