All boxers dream of becoming world champions, though in truth legends are rarely ever remembered best for which shiny belts they possessed.

Muhammad Ali is known as a three-time heavyweight champion, but his 'Thrilla in Manilla' victory over Joe Frazier and 'Rumble in the Jungle' triumph over George Foreman are more synonymous with his great name.

Lennox Lewis is remembered for his historic wins over Mike Tyson and Evander Holyfield, but who has the best win of the current British crop?

Boxing Betting Special - Get Khan to win 12/1 Brook 7/1

Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Duran are famed for beating each other, Marvin Hagler for his war with Tommy Hearns and Floyd Mayweather for retaining his undefeated record against Manny Pacquiao.

Ultimately, many boxers are remembered for their biggest and best wins above all else.

So, how do the current British crop stack up in a ranking of their most significant victories...

10. Billy Joe Saunders UD David Lemieux (2017)

While Saunders' wins over Chris Eubank Jr and Andy Lee also stand out, it is his masterclass display against David Lemieux which is his best to date. The Brit went to Canada on an uninspiring run of form, but beautifully outboxed the former world champion for a shutout win.

9. Dillian Whyte UD Joseph Parker (2018)

Following his points loss to Anthony Joshua, Parker jumped straight in with Whyte. The Brit, who also holds good wins over Oscar Rivas, Derek Chisora and Alexander Povetkin, floored the former WBO world champion and was too strong for him. In round 12, Whyte was down himself and had to cling on to the final bell, but survived a dramatic finish to claim the best victory of his career.

8. Callum Smith KO7 George Groves (2018)

Groves was seemingly not at his best when he met Smith in their World Boxing Super Series final clash, having suffered a serious shoulder injury in the semi-final. Regardless, he put up a good showing until he was overwhelmed and stopped by the destructive Smith in round seven, crowning a new WBA super-middleweight world champion.

7. Sunny Edwards UD Moruti Mthalane (2021)

Mthalane was admittedly ageing when he faced Edwards at age 38, but still stood firm as a world champion who had reigned twice and been unbeaten for over 11 years. Despite this though, the South African veteran was masterfully outboxed by the British youngster who became IBF flyweight king as a result.

6. Josh Taylor MD Regis Prograis (2019)

Taylor has now cleaned out the super-lightweight division, first picking up the IBF title by dethroning Ivan Baranchyk before then taking belts from Prograis and Jose Ramirez. Although it is close, the Prograis win stands out slightly above the Ramirez triumph as Regis proved himself in the World Boxing Super Series and pushed Taylor incredibly close in their final clash. The Scot ultimately battled through to earn a close points win.

5. Josh Warrington UD Carl Frampton (2018)

In 2018, Warrington stunned the boxing world with two big upset wins - first outpointing Lee Selby to claim the IBF featherweight title and then going one better by battling through a war with Frampton to come out on top. Warrington had too much for the former unified and two-weight world champion.

4. Kell Brook UD Shawn Porter (2014)

Porter was being heralded as a 'mini Mike Tyson' when he was the unbeaten IBF welterweight champion. However, Brook travelled to the US and outpointed him to take his title in a marvellous performance. The American has since shown his class in fights with Adrien Broner, Keith Thurman, Yordenis Ugas, Errol Spence and Terence Crawford.

3. Amir Khan UD Marcos Maidana (2010)

Khan's career best win came when he floored Maidana and beat him on points, surviving a massive scare in round ten to do so. After this, Maidana went on to become the first man to beat Adrien Broner and then had two fights with Floyd Mayweather, pushing the 50-0 legend very close first time around.

2. Anthony Joshua TKO11 Wladimir Klitschko (2017)

AJ's historic win over legendary champion Klitschko at Wembley Stadium cemented his status as heavyweight king. The Brit had the Ukrainian down in round five, though looked on the verge of being stopped himself later that same round. He was floored in the sixth, but survived and came back to secure a dramatic knockout in round 11.

1. Tyson Fury UD Wladimir Klitschko (2015)

Before Joshua beat Klitschko, it was Fury who conquered him first. The unheralded Brit stunned the boxing world as he travelled to Dusseldorf and nullified the champion, handing him his first defeat in 11 years. Although he did not get the stoppage, Fury's win tops AJ's as he beat an active, slightly younger Klitschko on foreign soil and was the man to end his reign.
