Floyd Mayweather explains the reality as Logan Paul says he is still waiting to be paid for exhibition fight last summer

Floyd Mayweather says Logan Paul must be patient and wait for the rest of his money from their exhibition fight last summer.
The 50-0 boxing legend ended up going the full eight rounds with Paul, 26, in June 2021 and the lucrative event was said to have sold more than one million pay-per-views.
However, YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul has said on numerous occasions he is yet to be paid in full for the fight nearly nine months on.
Speaking to The Pivot Podcast, Mayweather said the money from pay-per-views always takes a while on the back end and there’s nothing nefarious in making him wait.
“This comes with the territory,” he started.
"To them, that’s real money, and I like the YouTubers. The money on the back end though, from pay-per-view, that takes a while.
"Nothing comes right away. I’m still collecting checks from fights seven or eight years ago.
"They just hate when the table is turned. Be happy with the biggest payday you ever got in your life.”
Paul called Mayweather out for not paying him a few weeks ago and referred to the former four-weight world champion as a ‘f***ing s***bag.’
“It's honestly bull****, [Having] people who aren't a professional promotional company controlling where the money goes... we made that mistake,” Paul said.
"But it's Floyd Mayweather, so before we fought him we were kind of willing to do whatever [and] after the fact we're shooting ourselves in the foot because he's a f***ing s***bag.”
Mayweather is a veteran in this game and rose to the point where he could promote his own fights and make his own deals with networks like Showtime.
He says he paid $750k to get out of his contract at the time to go solo and then he made $750 million in his next three fights.
“The ultimate goal is to go to sleep when you want to and wake up when you want to,” said Mayweather.
“If you’re not doing that, then someone or something is controlling you. I don’t want to be controlled. I want to be my own boss.
“That’s why I paid 750 thousand dollars to get out of my first promotional contract. Because I eventually made £750m in just three fights.
“I don’t really care what people believe. No matter what you do, it’s not good enough for everyone. No matter what, they’re going to say what they want to say. But the history books, they will say something completely different,” said Mayweather.
