Dave Allen was warned Dillian Whyte not to attempt mind games prior to his fight with Tyson Fury.

Whyte has been publicly silent for several weeks now and only signed his contract for the bout just hours before the WBC deadline on Monday night.

Fury branded Whyte an 'absolute idiot' after he finally did put pen to paper, prompting some suggestions that his quiet tactics are having an impact on the Gypsy King.

Allen told Hawksbee and Jacobs: "I think he was just trying to get on Tyson's nerves to be honest.

"I'm not sure if it's worked or not.

"But the last man you want to play mind games with is Tyson Fury, he's the master of it.

"He made us all sweat, but I don't think there's any doubt he would actually sign it in the end."

The White Rhino lost a unanimous decision to Whyte back in 2016, and has sparred with Fury on multiple occasions.

When asked for his thoughts on the fight itself, Allen said: "I personally cannot see him beating Tyson Fury.

"I don't think he will win, I struggle to see a way that he will beat him.

"Dillian Whyte for me is number four or five in the world.

"There's Anthony Joshua, Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury - then possibly Whyte or Deontay Wilder.

"So he's a world class man, he's a fantastic fighter, he's had a brilliant career, but I just think Tyson Fury's out there on his own.

"Him and Usyk are out there on their own. They're the elite of this era and I don't see a way how Dillian beats him."
