Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will face off in arguably the biggest bout in women’s boxing history this weekend.

The clash, billed as ‘For History’, will take place at the iconic Madison Square Garden in New York and will see undisputed lightweight champion Taylor take on seven-division world champ Serrano.

These two have been scheduled to meet for some time with two previous dates postponed. 

But Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing and Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions have now come to an agreement in what will be a landmark occasion for the sport.

’Bray Bomber’ Taylor is unbeaten with 20 professional wins and beat Firuza Sharipova last December.

Serrano, meanwhile, has 42 career victories to her name and also won in December, beating Miriam Gutierrez.

On the same night, Stevenson and Valdez will clash in a bout between two undefeated fighters who will be competing for the WBO, WBC, and vacant Ring Magazine super-featherweight belts.

Fans feared that they may have to choose which fight to tune into, but Eddie Hearn confirmed that the Taylor-Serrano show he is co-promoting with Jake Paul will run at an earlier time to avoid a clash.

Taylor vs Serrano: Date and start time

The 10-round lightweight title clash will be held on Saturday, April 30.

It will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The ring walks for Taylor vs Serrano are due for around 3:15am UK time on Sunday morning with the start time expected to be approaching 3:30am.

Paul and Hearn also have a $1m bet on the winner, a wager that started with YouTuber Paul offering to hand over the jewellery he was wearing to the Matchroom promoter should Taylor win.

"When Amanda wins, I'm giving the $1m to her," Paul said afterwards.

The fight will be broadcast live on DAZN with their coverage starting at 1am Sunday UK time – the streaming service costs £7.99 per month, you can sign up .

It can be streamed via the DAZN app and can be viewed on smart TVs, game consoles, connected devices, mobile, tablets and computers.

"But actually, this is inspirational to me, to you, to young boys. This is a story that resonates worldwide."
