Adrien Broner had some choice words for Conor Benn after the young Brit called him out.

The four-weight world champion, who is now 32 years old, has not fought since February of last year when he beat Jovanie Santiago by unanimous decision.

Broner was recently in attendance for the Erickson Lubin vs Sebastian Fundora fight in Las Vegas and when asked by Behind The Gloves about a potential fight with Conor Benn, he simply responded: "He broke."

This comes as a contradiction to what Benn's promoter, Eddie Hearn told SunSport earlier this year: “I have spoken to Broner and ideally he wants a fight before he fights Conor because he is on this crusade of seriousness, can you believe?

“He wants to have one last run at it and that means being prepared for the Conor fight.

"He stressed he is ready to fight Conor Benn but that he would like a warm-up fight in March if possible.”

For the time being, Benn is doing just fine without Broner and he is in the form of his life having recorded four highly impressive victories.

Most notably his stunning knockout of former world champion, Chris Algieri, in his most recent outing.

After that fight, Benn called out Broner.

“I’d like to fight Adrien Broner. I know he’s not the Broner he once was but it’s a good name on my resume.”

Benn has also mentioned a number of other options, including Kell Brook, who recently demolished Amir Khan in a long overdue grudge match, but negotiations for that fight do not appear to have made much progress.

Those fights will all have to wait, however, as Benn is set to take on South Africa's Chris Van Heerden in Manchester this weekend, as he defends his WBA continental welterweight title.
