‘I might have to knock him out’ – Tyson Fury eyes WWE return at SummerSlam and Drew McIntyre match-up on Cardiff pay-per-view show

Tyson Fury has suggested that his next fight will come under the WWE banner at SummerSlam on July 30 at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
Fury, who knocked out Whyte in front of 94,000 at Wembley on Saturday night, also hopes to be a part of another British stadium show when the WWE holds an at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, this September in what will be their first UK pay-per-view in 30 years.
“Don’t rule me out of fighting there (WWE). You might see me at SummerSlam," Fury said at his post-fight press conference on Saturday.
"Drew McIntyre has been saying a lot of things about me. I might have to knock him out. I’d love to be in Cardiff."
‘The Gypsy King’ was consistently talking about retiring from boxing in the build-up to his WBC heavyweight title defence against Whyte and insisted he will walk away from the sport after knocking out ‘The Body Snatcher’ inside six rounds.
Although he appears to be done with boxing, Fury wants to continue fighting and made that much clear last night when inviting UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou to the ring to talk up a hybrid rules exhibition bout between the pair who are expected to face off in 2023.
Before that, Fury hopes he will return to the WWE.
The 33-year-old made his professional wrestling debut when he faced former Universal Champion Braun Strowman in Abu Dhabi in October 2019.
The Brit now wants to settle his beef with McIntyre, who believes that the king of heavyweight boxing has been ducking him as of late.
“I’m very happy when he comes around, but the last few years he ducks old Drew McIntyre,” the Scottish WWE star told talkSPORT.
“In terms of getting to know the man, since we started going back and forth with each other online, I wish I got to know him a little bit better.
“Every time he shows up at our events, he’s always ducking me. He’s the world’s largest ninja.
“Six-foot-nine, I don’t know how he manages to evade me all day long but prior to that, before we had our beef, I was around him leading up to the Braun Strowman match and got to see just how keen he was to put on a good performance.
McIntyre was meant to face Fury at a WWE UK PPV in 2020 before the pandemic hit. It now appears that he may finally get the chance to share the ring with the best heavyweight boxer on the planet.
