Canelo’s trainer says a fight with Kamaru Usman could happen in a similar way to Floyd Mayweather Jr vs Conor McGregor

Everyone wants to fight Canelo Alvarez and it seems that is not only limited to his sport of boxing, but nowadays MMA fighters also want a shot at the Mexican, including the UFC welterweight champion, Kamaru Usman.
Usman is unbeaten in the UFC and he has clearly run out of opponents, as he has been incessantly calling out Canelo on Twitter.
It began with Canelo going back and forth with Usman's manager and then Usman himself chimed in, before Canelo said:
"You calling me out right? You want the pay day right? So you know where, but sit down it's not your turn yet I have a legacy to make."
To which Usman replied, "Enough said... you don't want that smoke in a real fight. I hear you! Good luck champ."
If a fight were to happen between Canelo and Usman, it would not be the first time a crossover clash has happened between a boxer and a UFC fighter.
In 2017, Floyd Mayweather Jr and Conor McGregor battled it out in the second highest grossing boxing fight of all time, and Canelo's trainer, Eddy Reynoso believes Canelo vs Usman could happen in a similar way, as he told Behind The Gloves:
"What's happening now is that Canelo is in the situation that Oscar De La Hoya was in, Mayweather, Pacquiao, where all fighters want to face him and now you're seeing that fighters from the UFC are coming and calling him out." Reynoso said.
"I think we need to be focused ourselves and our team in making sure that Canelo continues to win.
"But in the future if a fight came up in the UFC, the way that Mayweather fought Conor McGregor then we would be very welcome to it."
Before Canelo can worry about taking on UFC fighters he must first get through a tough test on Saturday night against the WBA light-heavyweight champion, Dmitry Bivol.
After that, Canelo has a trilogy contest with Gennady Golovkin and then a fight in London as per his deal with Matchroom Boxing and DAZN worth a reported $160 million and so Usman will have to wait until next year at the earliest if he wants a shot at the Mexican.
