Gervonta Davis confirms he’s leaving Floyd Mayweather’s Mayweather Promotions after Rolly Romero fight and calls out Devin Haney for undisputed showdown if he beats George Kambosos Jr

Gervonta Davis has declared that he will leave Floyd Mayweather's promotional company Mayweather Promotions after his fight on Saturday night.
The US lightweight star is set to face Rolando 'Rolly' Romero in New York this weekend, and will be expected to emerge with a comfortable victory.
Assuming he wins as expected, there is now a lot of speculation as to what Gervonta will do next.
The 27-year-old made it clear on social media earlier this year that his contract with Mayweather Promotions is due to expire after this fight.
And now, he's confirmed that he will be going his own way once this deal reaches its conclusion.
Gervonta explained on the : "It's my career, so I feel as though I need to be the one that controls my career. It’s time.
"Everybody don’t need to have them training wheels on them forever.
"It's time to ride their own bike without training wheels."
Asked to confirm if this will be his last fight with Mayweather Promotions, Gervonta confirmed: "Yes, sir."
Gervonta is advised by the hugely influential Al Haymon - the man behind PBC (Premier Boxing Champions).
He is yet to clarify whether he will remain with Haymon and PBC after this weekend, or look to forge a new career as a complete free agent.
Floyd Mayweather previously reacted to Gervonta saying his contract was due to expire by telling FightHype: "Nothing lasts forever.
"I will always love Tank. He has to do what's best for him.
"I feel like I've done a great job thus far, building him and putting him in great fights. I'm proud of him."
In response to Mayweather's remarks, Gervonta said: "I feel as though the feeling's mutual.
"There's nothing bad or I have bad blood with Mayweather Promotions.
"I'm definitely appreciative of what they've done for me over the years.
"It's no love lost, it's just time for me to grow up and be my own man."
While Mayweather Promotions have undoubtedly built Gervonta into one of boxing's biggest young stars, they've frustrated fans by failing to put him in the fights many want to see.
At present, the lightweight division is surging with talent as Teofimo Lopez dethroned Vasyl Lomachenko, only to be beaten by George Kambosos Jr, who will now face Devin Haney in an undisputed showdown on June 4.
Gervonta has put on entertaining fights with Leo Santa Cruz, Mario Barrios and Isaac Cruz in recent times, but has only ever won legitimate world titles in one division - super-featherweight.
He holds the lesser WBA 'regular' belt at lightweight at present, but wants the chance to claim all the titles from the winner of Kambosos Jr vs Haney.
Replying to Haney's latest insults, Gervonta said: "He’s an email champ. He’s fighting because somebody mailed him the belt.
"And he was talking crazy.
"If you win, let’s make the fight happen, since you wanna talk crazy.
"Let's do that, I wanna fight you if you win, Devin Haney."
The wait to see Gervonta in huge fights with his fellow top lightweights may soon be over.
