YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul recently confirmed that his opponent for August 6 will be his former sparring partner Hasim Rahman Jr.

The two men have previously sparred together but certainly aren’t friends as their only training session to date ended in an angry exchange that almost boiled over.

After announcing who his next opponent was, Paul posted a video to social media showing Rahman Jr. in a state of anger after they had sparred.

It’s unclear exactly why the heavyweight boxer is so upset but he does suggest Paul called him a b**** and he also seems frustrated by the fact that someone is filming him.

Rahman Jr, whose dad is the former unified heavyweight world champion who knocked out Lennox Lewis in 2001, has now reflected on his lone sparring session with his next opponent who he is confident of knocking out when they meet in a real fight.

“Jake Paul and I sparred two years ago and let’s just say I took it easy on the kid. August 6 is not a sparring session. I am going to separate him from God’s conscience. My name is Hasim Rahman Jr., and I am going to knock out Jake Paul. Period,” he said.

‘The Problem Child’ was originally set to fight Tommy Fury on August 6 at Madison Square Garden, but the fight was scrapped after the younger brother of Tyson Fury was denied entry to America to attend a press conference to promote the fight.

Paul has amassed a 5-0 record since moving to professional boxing in 2020.

On August 6, he’ll fight an actual boxer for the first time after picking up wins over YouTuber AnEsonGib, NBA player Nate Robinson and MMA fighters Ben Askren and Tyron Woodley – who he beat twice.

Rahman, who has competed at heavyweight and once weighed in at 269lbs, hasn’t fought since suffering a TKO loss to James McKenzie Morrison in April.

Prior to that fight, he boasted a perfect 12-0 record.
