‘There’s some unsettled s*** talk’ – Jake Paul reveals UFC legend Nate Diaz is at the top of his hit-list after fight with Hasim Rahman Jr. on August 6

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has a tough fight coming up, but he’s already got one eye on UFC legend Nate Diaz, who he wants to box later this year.
Earlier this week, ‘The Problem Child’ confirmed that his opponent for August 6 will be his former sparring partner Hasim Rahman Jr, whose dad is the former unified heavyweight world champion who knocked out Lennox Lewis in 2001.
The 25-year-old was originally set to fight Tommy Fury on next month at Madison Square Garden, but the fight was scrapped after the younger brother of Tyson Fury was denied entry to America to attend a press conference to promote the fight.
Paul has received praise from combat sports stars such as Carl Frampton and Michael Bisping for opting to fight the vastly more experience Rahman Jr., who boasts a 12-1 professional boxing record, on short notice.
Despite the fact his toughest test to date is less than one month away, Paul is already looking ahead to what comes after he beats Rahman Jr.
The former Disney actor revealed that Nate Diaz is at the top of his list and he is just waiting for the MMA icon to finish up his current contract with the UFC.
"I’m just waiting for some guys to get out of their UFC contracts to put them to sleep,” Paul told before elaborating on exactly who he is talking about.
“I think Nate Diaz is first and foremost. That's the one that everyone's been wanting. Everyone knows he only has one or two fights left with the UFC.
“So, hopefully, when he's done with that, we can run it back because there's some unsettled s*** talk there."
Diaz hasn’t fought since suffering a unanimous decision defeat against Leon Edwards at UFC 263 in June 2021.
The 37-year-old has been loudly campaigning for a fight ever since and has been linked to matchups with Khamzat Chimaev and Dustin Poirier but for some reason, they haven’t materialised.
Diaz, who has just one fight left on his UFC contract, is keen to compete one last time in the promotion before leaving to explore the lucrative free agency market and a potential fight with Paul.
The California native has called for his release from the UFC in recent weeks and also expressed his willingness to take a late-notice fight at UFC 277 on July 30.
