‘Don’t they have music together?’ – Jake Paul lets rip after KSI refused to fight him before naming his rapper friend Swarmz as new opponent following Alex Wassabi withdrawal

After a few hours of uncertainty, it seems that KSI is still set to make his eagerly anticipated return to boxing at London’s O2 Arena on August 27.
The YouTuber, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams “JJ” Olatunji, fights for the first time since beating Logan Paul in 2019 in what was his professional debut, but not his first boxing experience after two prior white-collar contests.
KSI was set to face Alex Wassabi later this month but on Saturday it was announced the American had to withdraw due to injury, sparking fears that the event may be scrapped.
Fans can now rest easy after KSI’s replacement opponent has been confirmed to be Swarmz, who has apparently been on standby in case Wassabi pulled out for whatever reason.
“WE HAVE A NEW MF & DAZN X: SERIES 001 HEADLINER KSI will fight Swarmz at the O2 Arena on Aug. 27 after Alex Wassabi withdrew due to a concussion,” DAZN Boxing confirmed on social media.
Swarmz - real name Brandon Scott – is a 25-year-old rapper who has no boxing experience and knows KSI through their music careers after he appeared alongside the Londoner on his single Houdini.
This new opponent announcement comes after Jake Paul excited fight fans by offering to make 180lbs and fight KSI for free in London on August 27.
However, the 29-year-old rejected Paul’s offer and claimed that when he fights ‘The Problem Child’ it will be on his terms and in front of many more fans at a stadium such as Wembley.
The 25-year-old was disappointed in KSI’s opponent choice and took to social media to ridicule the match-up before claiming it should be free-to-air rather than pay-per-view.
“KSI vs Swampz Don’t they have music together? He’s fighting someone who has never fought before and that is his friend… This fight should for free,” Paul wrote on Twitter.
Paul then compared the careers of KSI and his brother, who has gone eight rounds with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather since he suffered a split decision loss against the Englishman in 2019.
“Logan Paul fought Floyd Mayweather after KSI… KSI is fighting Swarm,” he added.
The former Disney actor is currently looking for an opponent after his August 6 event at Madison Square Garden fell apart after the withdrawals of Tommy Fury and Hasim Rahman Jr.
It’s currently unclear who will be next for Paul, who has recently been linked to fights with UFC legend Nate Diaz and controversial social media star Andrew Tate.
talkSPORT will be in Jeddah for the Oleksandr Usyk vs Anthony Joshua rematch on 20 August.
