Legendary boxing promoter Bob Arum reveals he is already speaking with Oleksandr Usyk’s team about fighting Tyson Fury in December ahead of Anthony Joshua rematch
Hall of Fame boxing promoter Bob Arum is still working on big fights for Tyson Fury, even though the Englishman insists he is retired.
‘The Gypsy King’ walked away from the sport in the immediate aftermath of his sixth-round knockout win over Dillian Whyte at Wembley Stadium in April.

After months of speculation about his impending return, the WBC heavyweight champion remains adamant he is done with boxing for good but the majority of fight fans remain unconvinced.
Now, Arum has breathed new life into comeback rumours as he revealed he is already in talks with Oleksandr Usyk’s team about a potential fight with his biggest star that could take place later this year.
The Ukrainian, who holds the WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight titles, is due to rematch Anthony Joshua on August 20 and could potentially set an undisputed fight with Fury, who holds the only other major heavyweight belt.
“I’m hoping [Oleksandr] Usyk wins because I’ve talked with his people and I think they would be anxious to fight Tyson Fury and I would hope to do that fight in December, maybe, or early next year,” Arum told .
The 90-year-old expects a repeat result in the rematch after Usyk convincingly beat Joshua over 12 rounds when they first fought at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London last September.

“I don’t think he [Robert Garcia] can turn Joshua into what Joshua isn’t,” Arum explained.
“I just think Usyk is a much better fighter, much smarter fighter, much quicker fighter and I can’t see how Joshua can beat him. But heavyweights are heavyweights and so we could possibly have a different result.”
Despite being insistent on his retirement status, Fury has previously teased the possibility of coming back to face Oleksandr Usyk for £500million or Anthony Joshua for free.

In recent days, he’s also been linked with a trilogy bout against Derek Chisora after the pair, who have fought twice previously, fell out after ‘Del Boy’ backed Whyte to KO Fury in April.
On Saturday, the 33-year-old made his feelings about his heavyweight rivals clear.
He took to social media to sing: “I’m the f***ing best, I’m the f***ing best, I’m the best there ever was, the best there ever was, I’m the f***ing boss.”
Fury then ended his song and added: “I’m the f***ing boss.
“Heavyweights – I own those motherf***ers.”
