Exclusive – Booth backs Groves ahead of Froch rematch

George Groves’ rematch with Carl Froch is the London-born boxer’s to lose, claims former trainer Adam Booth.
The pair will meet again on May 31 following the Cobra’s controversial ninth-round stoppage victory last November.
Groves was in control for large parts of the original encounter and Booth believes the upcoming bout is in the 25-year-old’s hands.
“It will be a similar fight,” he told talkSPORT. “But I don’t expect George to make the same mistakes he made first time round.
“He’s a young fighter and hadn’t fought on the world stage as many times as Carl. There was some unpredictability about how he was going to fight. Now that George has shown his style at that level I don’t think he needs the element of surprise.
“His speed of hand and foot will be the thing Carl won’t be able to cope with,” he added. “I do expect George to be a bit more refined, he’ll give less away to Carl.
“This second fight is George's to lose. All he has to do is refine what he did first time round [and he’ll win].”
