‘I wonder who he should fight?’ – YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul reacts to MMA legend Nate Diaz suggesting he’ll crossover into boxing after submitting Tony Ferguson at UFC 279

Jake Paul has immediately reacted to Nate Diaz confirming that his 15-year run with the UFC is over after he submitted Tony Ferguson on Saturday night.
Diaz fought out his latest contract with the MMA leader at UFC 279 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas before announcing he will leave the promotion and ‘take over’ another sport.
‘The Problem Child’ jokingly reacted to Diaz’s announcement in a video posted to social media, he said: “Nate Diaz is going into the sport of boxing. I wonder who he should fight?”
Paul and Diaz have been linked to a fight with each other for months, but that bout appears to be off the table, at least for now, as the former Disney actor is set to box Anderson Silva on October 29.
If he manages to improve his perfect boxing record to 6-0 next month, a fight with Diaz would definitely be in play for later this year or in the first quarter of 2023.
However, the UFC star did not categorically state his intention is to cross over into boxing, although he strongly hinted at it by taking a shot at Conor McGregor during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
“I wanna get out of the UFC for a minute and show all these UFC fighters how to take over another sport how you’re supposed to do,” Diaz said post-fight at UFC 279.
“Conor McGregor didn’t know how to do it and none of these other fighters know how to do it.
“So, I’m going to take over another profession and show everyone I’m the best at that then I’ll be right the f*** back to get a UFC title – the best motherf***ing title in the world.”
Diaz will leave the UFC as one of the biggest MMA stars of all time and he will surely be fielding countless offers, that are sure to be lucrative, in the coming days.
The 37-year-old is one of the most talented boxers on the UFC roster and has sparred with world champions such as Andre Ward and Regis Prograis – who have nothing but good things to say about him.
If he does choose to try his luck in the squared circle, he’d certainly be better prepared than the likes of Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren, who were embarrassingly knocked out by Paul.
