Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk will ‘without a doubt’ meet for all the heavyweight belts in 2023, according to Top Rank President Todd DuBoef.

Back in August, Usyk beat Anthony Joshua for the second time to defend his WBA, WBO, and IBF titles and set up a mouth-watering clash with 'The Gypsy King'.

Fury holds the WBC heavyweight title – the only other major belt – and had hoped to face the Ukrainian for all the marbles later this year.

However, Usyk ruled himself out for the rest of 2022 because he is dealing with some injuries and wants to spend some well-earned time with his family.

Since then, Fury has turned his attention to alternative opponents but his co-promoter, DuBoef, is confident that a historic fight with Usyk will take place in 2023.

“I think that's without a doubt. That's everybody's objective,” he told .

"I think both fighters want it, the fans want it and it's the crowning moment for the heavyweight champion."

After it became clear an undisputed fight was not possible for this year, Fury tried to make an eagerly anticipated match-up with Joshua, but that fight fell through, and he is now expected to face Derek Chisora.

That is despite the fact ‘Del Boy’ has already suffered two one-sided defeats against Fury in 2011 and 2014 and has lost three of his last four fights.

The trilogy bout, which is expected to take place on December 3 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, is yet to be officially confirmed but terms are believed to have been agreed upon between the two men.

"There's nothing to report,” DuBoef added about Fury’s next opponent.

“As I've said over and over again, we wish it was AJ. All I can tell you is he's set on fighting before the end of the year. That's been the direction we've gotten from him.

"I'll check in on his social media and see what he posts next!"
