It may not have looked great in the ring but when you look at the punch stats, Deji did not do too badly against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Deji was stopped in the sixth round of his exhibition bout against Mayweather Jr on Sunday night.

As expected, Mayweather Jr looked utterly dominant as he stopped Deji inside the distance

Before the fight, Deji outlined that his only ambition was to land a punch on Mayweather Jr.

He did much better than that as the punch stats show he landed 25 shots in the six rounds.

To put the cherry on the cake, Mayweather Jr even emerged with a black eye much to the delight of Deji.

Deji's 25 punches were only three fewer than the 28 managed by fellow YouTuber, Logan Paul, when he fought Mayweather Jr in an exhibition bout last year.

With that being said, neither Paul or Deji managed to land anywhere near the 111 shots that found the target from Conor McGregor when he came up against Mayweather Jr in 2017.

Although, comparing McGregor's stats to that of Deji and Paul is perhaps a little unfair considering he has far more combat experience.

Also, McGregor vs Mayweather Jr lasted ten rounds and it was a professional bout, meaning it was fought at a higher intensity than a more relaxed exhibition.

In the near future, McGregor could get the chance to go one better than just landing 111 punches and this time actually beat Mayweather Jr as there are talks of a rematch between the pair.

Ahead of Mayweather Jr's recent exhibition against Deji, he had said, "I have another exhibition Dubai in November, and me and Conor McGregor in 2023.

“We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition or a real fight, but there’s been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition.â€

McGregor initially suggested he was not interested in the fight, but he has since come out on Twitter and said that he would 'end' Mayweather Jr in a rematch.
