Daniel Dubois DOWN three times in round one, but knocks out Kevin Lerena in third round of incredible victory on Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora undercard

Daniel Dubois was floored three times in the first round against Kevin Lerena on Saturday night, but fought back to win by knockout in round three.

The Brit suffered a knee injury when he first went down, but battled on to claim a big victory on the undercard of Tyson Fury vs Derek Chisora 3.

The fight began with Dubois throwing out his jab to establish an early rhythm.

Then, all of a sudden, disaster struck.

As the pair got close in an exchange, Lerena landed a left hand to the top of Dubois' head and the Brit appeared to severely injure his knee as he staggered backwards.

The Brit went down as a result, but made it back to his feet.

Seeing an opening, Lerena went on the attack and floored Dubois twice more in round one.

Both times he recovered to his feet and just about survived to the bell.

In a crisis situation, trainer Shane McGuigan instructed his man to box cautiously and make the bout cagey in order to survive.

This is exactly what Dubois did in round two as he continued to battle on despite his injury.

In round three, he astonishingly turned the fight around.

Dubois hammered Lerena with a hard right hand which floored the South African.

He made it back to his feet, but was then bludgeoned by a combination from the Brit which prompted referee Howard Foster to stop the fight.

There were questions over the stoppage as it came right on the bell and Lerena could have been given 60 seconds to recover, but Dubois was praised for his incredible recovery regardless.

Dubois reacted: "It was amazing. He caught me on top of the head.

"But I have the heart of a warrior. My team said, 'Get back to your boxing.'

"My leg was shot. S*** happens."
