Johnny Fisher says Daniel Dubois is the heaviest hitter he has sparred, but he’s had some ‘fire fights’ with Joe Joyce and Tyson Fury tops the pile overall

Johnny Fisher has sparred with the best of British heavyweights from Tyson Fury to Joe Joyce and Daniel Dubois.

Out of those men, it is fair to say that Dubois is the least accomplished due to being in the relatively early stages of his career although he is the only one with a loss on his professional record.

It might surprise you to hear, however, that 'Dynamite' hits the hardest of the lot, according to Fisher.

"Daniel Dubois is probably the heaviest hitter I’ve ever been in with, he’s a very powerful puncher,"; Fisher told talkSPORT.

"I got some rounds with him recently and it’s always good to train with somebody who is just about hitting that world title level now, hopefully he’ll get to challenge for a world title.

"He’s still a young guy himself, so it’s good to get some rounds from him and learn from him."

With that being said, Fisher revealed that Dubois did not provide the most challenging rounds - that award instead goes to 'The Juggernaut' Joyce.

Fisher told talkSPORT that his 2022 boxing highlight, outside of an actual fight, was being in camp with Joyce for his fight against Joseph Parker, when he recorded a career best stoppage victory.

"Me and Joe Joyce have had some really good fire fights, not just sparring but we proper go hammer and tongs," Fisher said.

The Romford Bull could not talk about his sparring experience without also giving 'The Gypsy King' a shoutout, adding: "I’ve also got to give a mention to Tyson Fury, who is obviously top of the pile.

"I’ve only sparred him a couple of times, but the knowledge that he gave me and the advice that he and his dad were giving me, I was very grateful for that.

"He’s the top of the mountain, so I guess he’s the best all-round fighter to spar."
