Jake Paul has revealed that he had a wet dream on the morning of his fight with Tommy Fury and believes this weakened his legs in the ring.

The 6-1 YouTuber-turned-boxer suffered his first defeat as he lost a split decision to the brother of the WBC heavyweight world champion last month.

In the aftermath, Paul has taken the loss surprisingly well, albeit with a few excuses made along the way.

The latest of these is that his two-week period of abstaining from sexual release in order to build testosterone was ruined on the morning of the fight.

Jake joined his brother Logan Paul on his podcast to discuss the defeat this week.

Logan asked: "Do you think your wet dream played a part in it at all?"

Jake was initially slightly taken aback to hear the discussion raised publicly and said: "I don't know if we should talk about this."

But Logan replied: "I do wanna talk about it because I know you didn't want to, but mum said, 'Jake had a wet dream the night before his fight.'

"I said, 'No f***ing way.' I had a wet dream the day of the KSI fight...

"Essentially what you do is you don't release in order to build up that testosterone in your body to make you angry f***ing fighter."

Jake then said: "I f***ed myself, literally, over.

"I don't actually even remember the dream. I literally woke up in a panic, like, 'F***, f***, f***, f***.' I was like, 'Oh my god.'

"You have two weeks of testosterone built up and so the reason a wet dream happens is because your body needs to release that energy, it knows in your mind, 'This is not good.'

"I f***ed myself.

"But yeah it makes your legs weak. For the viewers, that's why it's bad, it makes your legs weak."

Asked directly if it's the reason he lost, Jake concluded: "I think it's one of many reasons."

He has also listed illness in training and travel/jet lag as earlier excuses.
