Anthony Joshua doesn't want to waste anytime getting back into the ring after beating Jermaine Franklin.

The pair clashed on Saturday night and Joshua emerged victorious by unanimous decision and now he is ready to go again.

The Brit posted on his the next day, sat in a sauna, alongside the caption: "Light 12 rounds ✅ Cardio ✅ Recovery day ✅ 12 weeks I go again ✅ All glory to God."

It is surprising that Joshua described the fight as being a 'light 12 rounds', as in the immediate aftermath he did not seem particularly pleased with his performance.

“I am a bit disappointed,” Joshua told talkSPORT.

“But, it’s for the fans, however they felt, however the fans felt is what I feel because I’m here for them.”

When asked why he was not happy with how he fought, Joshua replied: “It wasn’t a knockout and the people are bored of 12-rounders, it’s annoying.”

In terms of Joshua saying he will fight again in 12 weeks, this is equally surprising, as it would be an incredibly quick turnaround for AJ given that he has been fighting once a year for the last three years.

As for who he might fight next, Joshua said: “It would be an honour to get Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder.”

But, it is extremely unlikely that he would be able to negotiate and train for a fight with either of these men in the next 12 weeks.

A more realistic option could be Dillian Whyte and this seems to be the fight that Joshua's promoter, Eddie Hearn, would prefer.

"Dillian Whyte is a good fight..." Hearn said at the post-fight press conference. "The sensible thing to do is keep improving with Derrick James."
