Some of Conor McGregor's trash-talk came back to haunt him recently and he was forced to apologise.

In 2017, during the heated build-up to the huge clash between Floyd Mayweather Jr and McGregor, the Irishman took aim at the president of broadcaster Showtime.

At one point, while on stage at one of the press conferences, McGregor turned to Espinoza seemingly unprovoked and called him a 'weasel'.

Years later, McGregor wanted to attend the Gervonta Davis vs Ryan Garcia fight and according to his old rival and sparring partner, Paulie Malignaggi, the Irishman had to apologise to Espinoza to get tickets.

"This happened because I've got all the inside sources, Conor McGregor had to apologise to Stephen Espinoza in order to get tickets to the Gervonta Davis versus Ryan Garcia fight," .

"Everybody knows that McGregor has had issues, his run ins with Espinoza in the past and they were enemies as well.

"But Espinoza now controls the tickets, it's a Showtime fight.

"He had to apologise and this p****y apologised just to get tickets to the fight.

"Conor McGregor, Connie, how does Stephen Espinoza's d taste? Can you let me know?

"Because I told them to f*** off when they wanted me to apologise."

With that being said, McGregor got to witness a great fight, as Davis won by body shot KO in the seventh round.

'The Notorious One' even made it backstage after the fight to give Garcia some words of encouragement, saying: "He’s 1-0 on you.

"You’re the two biggest names in the division, I wanna see it again. I wanna see it again now and I wanna see it with no rehydration clause.

“All the respect in the world to you, you’re the future.”
