Conor McGregor’s teammate was one of the many MMA stars poking fun at Tyson Fury for predicting he would beat Jon Jones in a no holds barred fight.

After an unusual social media hiatus, the WBC heavyweight champion returned to Twitter on Thursday and took aim at UFC commentator Joe Rogan.

Rogan felt the wrath of Fury after predicting Jones would beat him

He recently predicted a fantasy fight between the best big men from MMA and boxing - insisting that Fury stands next to no chance of beating Jones because he is capable of taking the fight to the floor whenever he wants.

Despite having an obvious grappling disadvantage, ‘The Gypsy King’ took offence to Rogan’s comments and decided to put the 55-year-old on blast while insisting he beats the UFC heavyweight champion under any ruleset.

“I heard Joe Rogan say something about me, and I’ve been off all the social media and didn’t reply to that little p****, little f****** midget, bald-headed midget,” Fury ranted.

“I heard him say that Jon Jones could f*** me up if we were in the room together. I don’t think so.

"Not a man born from a mother could f*** me up, in a room, on our own. Whatever happens in that room, I’d be walking out. Not a f****** problem.”

Jones was one of the first UFC stars to react and did so by inviting the Englishman to call Dana White to set up the biggest crossover fight since Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor in August 2017.

Bellator fighter Dillon Danis, who is a teammate of McGregor and a known troll, also sent a fight offer that gave Fury the chance to win $40million [£32m] in a matter of minutes.

“I’ll put up $20m [£16m] vs your $20m [£16m] - one MMA round if you survive five mins you keep all the money Tyson Fury,” he tweeted.

UFC lightweight contender Renato Moicano scoffed at the idea of the unbeaten Mancunian standing a chance against Jones inside the octagon.

He wrote: “That’s not even a debate… there’s no question Jon Jones would beat the s*** out of Fury in a fight!!!!"

Featherweight veteran Cub Swanson added: “Tyson Fury beats Jon Jones in boxing and Bare Knuckle Boxing. But Jon easily beats Fury in any other combat sport.”

Meanwhile featherweight contender Sodiq Yusuff stated: “The crazy part is he actually believes this.”

Amid the backlash, Fury quickly backed down from his comments by rejecting Jones' UFC fight offer and instead, invited the 35-year-old American to meet him in the squared circle.

"I see Jon Jones has piped up, Jon you're talking about me in the cage. I'm not a cage fighter mate I'm a boxer, the best boxer actually," he said.

"If you want to come into a boxing ring and fight me, be my guest and let me know. You don't have to call anybody else, no dramas, nobody.

"You call me because it's a boxing fight and I'm the boss in this gym, me.

"You're a great fighter Jon, but you're no boxer that's for sure. All the best and good luck."
