Tim Tszyu has slammed Jermell Charlo and Canelo Alvarez for fighting each other and claimed they are 'ducking' better fights.

Australian fighter Tszyu was expected to challenge Charlo for his undisputed WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO super-welterweight world titles in the coming months.

However, Charlo has instead opted to step up two divisions and take on Mexican superstar Canelo on September 30 in Las Vegas.

The super-middleweight showdown is the first undisputed vs undisputed fight in the history of the men's four-belt era.

But it is also a serious blow to Tszyu, who was blindsided by the negotiations and found out via social media on Saturday morning.

Taking to Instagram, he said: “Canelo ducks [David] Benavidez. Charlo ducks Tszyu. #boxing."

Undefeated Tszyu was originally scheduled to face Charlo on January 29 before the latter broke two bones in his left hand.

While the WBO may now elevate Tszyu from 'interim' to full world champion, he continues to be frustrated as he misses out on the big fight yet again.

Canelo, meanwhille, was initially expected to fight Jermell Charlo's twin brother Jermall Charlo.

Reports claim Jermell jumped in at the eleventh hour after middleweight champion Jermall decided he could not be properly prepared for the Canelo fight due to a long period of inactivity and an ongoing personal situation.
