Conor McGregor has jokingly been offered a ring return.

‘Notorious’ famously made his professional boxing debut in 2017 when he squared off against Floyd Mayweather in one of the most watched fights of all time.

'Notorious' started well but gassed down the stretch before ultimately being stopped on his feet by ‘The Best Ever’ in round ten.

McGregor has always insisted he will return to the squared circle before his career is over and he was even linked to a fight with Manny Pacquiao before losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 in January 2021.

Now, he’s bizarrely received a call out from three-belt heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk who will defend his titles against Daniel Dubois in Poland on August 26.

“I have no ambitions besides one ambition – it’s to fight Tyson Fury,” he told .

“I saw that Conor McGregor put some significant weight on his body. Hey Conor, why don’t we make a fight at Wembley?”

Usyk’s comments come after ‘The Gypsy King’ agreed to a lucrative exhibition bout with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou who he’ll face in Saudi Arabia on October 28.

‘The Joker’ was expected to face Fury at Wembley Stadium on April 29.

However, despite agreeing to a purse split, negotiations between the heavyweight duo collapsed at the eleventh hour as Usyk’s team accused the Englishman of making ‘disrespectful demands.’

It was hoped the pair would still meet later this year at a heavyweight mega-event in Saudi Arabia that will also feature a fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.

Unfortunately, Fury has opted to face Ngannou instead and is unlikely to fight Usyk for all four major belts in 2023, although, it’s hoped talks can be revived for a 2024 clash.

Meanwhile, McGregor is gearing up for his first UFC fight in two years.

The 34-year-old famously broke his leg during a trilogy fight with Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, but he is now fully fit and booked to face Michael Chandler.

It’s currently unclear exactly when they’ll fight due to an ongoing drug testing issue.

McGregor has repeatedly stated his intention is to compete at UFC 296 on December 16.
