Leigh Wood hints at Floyd Mayweather City Ground dust-up after boxing legend offers up young star for world title shot

Leigh Wood and Floyd Mayweather Jr are not fighters you would expect be calling each other out, but that's boxing.
The self-proclaimed 'TBE' (The Best Ever) has a 17-year-old prospect, Curmel Moton, signed to Mayweather promotions and he wants him to get a world title shot already.
Moton sparred Gervonta 'Tank' Davis at just 16 years old and he has won 18 amateur titles and Mayweather thinks he should fight WBA featherweight champion Wood on his pro debut.
“Leigh Wood - I've got a 126lber Curmel Moton, that would be a good match now. He's turning professional. We take chances to be great," Mayweather told .
"Eddie Hearn is a good businessman and I'm a good businessman. Our guy is 0-0, we'll take the fight.
"I'll put all the money up for both sides. My guy's 17, he's destined to be great. Remember I told you that.”
Wood, however, is not interested in fighting a 17-year-old and instead wants to take on 'Money' Mayweather, 46, himself.
Life-long Nottingham Forest fan Wood, 35, tweeted in response: "Floyd, you’re closer to my age than your prospect is to me.
"I’ll give a few lbs away to dance with a great, you ever been to the City Ground?"
Wood's dream is to fight at the 30,000-capacity City Ground, home to his beloved Forest.
After beating Mauricio Lara in his last fight, the two-time champion explained he's already told promoter Hearn his dream is to box there.
Given the Premier League season has resumed, though, any fight there would have to be in the summer.
For the time being, Wood needs to turn his attention away from Mayweather and the City Ground to and focus it on his upcoming clash with Josh Warrington.
The pair will go toe-to-toe at Sheffield Arena on October 7 where Wood puts his WBA world title on the line.
