‘Talking s***’ – Canelo Alvarez’s trainer viciously fires back at sparring partner and calls him a ‘sack of potatoes’ after stunning claims

Canelo Alvarez's trainer Eddy Reynoso has lashed out at his man's former sparring partner Ahmed Elbiali.
The Mexican boxing star is set to defend his undisputed super-middleweight (168lbs) world titles against undisputed super-welterweight (154lbs) world champion Jermell Charlo on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Canelo is facing serious questions heading into the bout, with many having criticised his last three performances.
The 33-year-old was beaten by Dmitry Bivol in May 2022, then looked a fair distance away from his brilliant best as he outpointed Gennady Golovkin and John Ryder in September 2022 and May 2023.
One of the main criticisms of Canelo is that he appeared fatigued in the latter stages of all three bouts, with some suggesting he may now be past his peak due to the fact he started professional boxing at age 15.
Last year, Canelo had 23-1 Egyptian boxer Ahmed Elbiali as a sparring partner in training camp.

Elbiali reinforced this criticism as he said in an interview on the And Still Podcast: "I think he's just very lazy. Not volume, he's genuinely tired.
"I think he's genuinely tired of boxing. Not in a bad way too.
"I think both, physically and mentally. He's been boxing since he was 15, he's had numerous surgeries all over his body.
"And God knows what he does on the side.

"When you're being that consistent and working that hard, but you're putting s*** in your gas tank, it's gonna hurt."
Elbiali continued by telling a story of a time he claims Canelo quit a sparring session with him due to fatigue.
He recalled: "Imagine sparring a world champion of his calibre and his legacy, but in the third or fourth round he's like, 'I'm tired.'
"He said, 'I'm tired, I can't right now.'
"I'm like, 'F*** bro.'
"I swear to God, they just stopped sparring because he's tired."
A clip from this interview has now gone viral on social media ahead of the Charlo fight.
This prompted a public response from Canelo's trainer Reynoso who viciously fired back: "Very good joke coming from a sack of potatoes.
"That's why it's so complicated to give opponents the opportunity to spar with champions, because they treat them well in the ring and they think they can, so they come back talking s***!"
