Carl Froch sends KO warning to Amir Khan ahead of potential fight with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao

Carl Froch has advised fellow British boxing legend Amir Khan to stay retired amid talk of a potential showdown with a prolific knockout artist.
Khan recently revealed that discussions are ongoing for a fight with eight-weight world champion Manny Pacquiao, whom he once called a teammate.
The former unified light welterweight champion hasn’t fought since taking a brutal beating during his six-round TKO defeat against long-time rival Kell Brook in February 2022.
Since then, the 36-year-old has announced his retirement from boxing, failed a drug test and received a two-year ban, which will end in April 2024.
Pacquiao seemingly walked away from fighting after losing his WBA (super) welterweight title to Yordenis Ugas who outpointed him over 12 rounds in August 2021.
However, the 44-year-old Filipino boxing icon could now return to the ring to face his former sparring partner in a fight that was frequently discussed during their decorated careers.
Froch believes Khan's return bout with Pacquiao will end in disaster.
"He’s a solid, fierce competitor, 44 years old, a big puncher," 'The Cobra’ said while talking about Pacquiao on his .
"A punch is the last thing to go from a professional boxer. Amir Khan calling out Pacquiao is purely for money, and he needs to be careful.
“We saw him against Brook, he got hit with a jab and his legs turned to Bambi.
"He can’t take a punch. His punch resistance has gone. He’s had a great career, his service to boxing has been unbelievable - he won a silver medal and went on to have a great career.
"To fight Pacquiao now, the writing is on the wall.
"I know Pacquiao’s 44 years old, but he’s still gonna knock out Amir Khan. He needs to stick to whatever he’s doing. I think he’s promoting or trying to get into that side.
"Do not fight Pacquiao, it’s dangerous, keep the gloves hung up, Amir.”
The former super middleweight world champion brought his career to an end after knocking out George Groves in front of 80,000 people at Wembley Stadium almost a decade ago.
Froch has flirted with the idea of returning for a fight with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, but, for the most part, he seems content covering boxing through his media work.
It seems unlikely Khan will be taking a leaf out of his compatriot’s book if a big money fight with Pacquiao is on the table.
