Simon Jordan and Conor Benn seem to have somewhat reconciled their differences following a long conversation.

After Benn failed two drugs tests last year ahead of a scheduled fight with Chris Eubank Jr, Jordan has been openly critical of how the young fighter has dealt with the situation, which is still ongoing.

But, after having a lengthy conversation with Benn - who has always maintained his innocence - Jordan wants more than ever for him to clear his name.

Talking on the Jordan explained: "Conor Benn contacted me last week... and wanted to have a chat, which surprised me. So, Conor and I got together and had about an hour and a half.

"Some of it I'm not going to share. I said to Conor I wouldn't breach his confidence in me relaying it and I think you'll find that Conor is going to be in the media sooner rather than later and tell people certain things and talk about his situation.

"But, it was an hour and a half with a young man that went from being very emotional, to being very angry... through to someone that was very placid and very thoughtful.

"My overriding takeaway from the conversation with Conor was he's a very decent young man, he's a very nice boy, and he's a very clever young man as well, he's not a fool."

Jordan continued: "Conor's got a lot to say and there's a lot more behind some of the things that you and I think we understand about procedure, about who did what when and I don't just mean the drugs tests.

"I mean the procedure being followed by others, the reasons why outcomes have come from tribunals or certainly in front of the independent drug commission and I'm gonna let Conor say that because I've told him that I won't breach his trust. But, there's a lot more than just the simple straight-forward line."

As for whether Benn can prove his innocence, Jordan said: "He and his advisor... are categoric that they have an ability to be game-changing in the information that they have about the ingestion of this particular substance.

"How it manifested itself and also why it hasn't found into the public domain, why it didn't find it's way into the appeal process, why the British Boxing Board of Control haven't seen it...

"What I came away from with Conor, and again, people will say 'you're getting old, Jordan, you're getting flaky', but this is a very nice kid and if you listen to him, it's difficult to understand he would put himself in the way of these circumstances."

Jordan went on to say that he expects Benn to tell his side of the story soon, and it could even come on the talkSPORT Boxing YouTube channel, before adding: "Just the final thing on Conor Benn, what I came away from that conversation was wanting Conor to speak, wanting for people to hear him.

"And even more so wanting him to prove his innocence if he can, or take his medicine, one of the two, because you cannot walk away from a conversation with that kid... he's actually a good kid."
