Ebanie Bridges sends classy message to opponent Miyo Yoshida after losing world title

Ebanie Bridges has paid tribute to her conqueror, Miyo Yoshida, describing her as 'beautiful and humble' despite her loss.
Bridges was beaten by Yoshida in San Francisco as part of the Devin Haney vs Regis Prograis undercard as she failed to defend her IBF bantamweight world title.
Despite being tipped to lose out to Bridges, Yoshida was awarded a comfortable unanimous decision win, much to the shock of those watching on.
Two judges scored the contest 99-91, while the third was 97-93.
The punch statistics after the fight showed just how one-side it was with Yoshida landing 122 blows to Bridges' 66.
However, the Australian star showed her gracious side with a classy message to her opponent on social media.
Writing on X, Bridges said: "Absolutely gutted, it wasn’t my night.
"Big congrats to my opponent, @MiyoBluedog, she was the better fighter tonight. Beautiful and humble, single mother.
"Seeing how much that win meant to her and her daughter did give me some warmth inside.
"A loss doesn’t define me. I have no quit, it’s all learning and I’ll be back better & stronger.
"Thank you to everyone who supports me. I love you all."
Bridges hadn't fought since beating Shannon O'Connell in December 2022, while defeat in America no Saturday brought an end to her 21-month reign as champion.
