Beterbiev has the IBF, WBC and WBO belts with Smith becoming the newest challenger to be the new unified champion of the light-heavyweight.
This fight was supposed to be in the summer of 2023 in August, but Beterbiev became unavailable due to him having surgery on his jaw, and therefore delayed for months to ensure full recovery.

Smith is the outsider to win against the Canadian-Russian who is making his 12th appearance in Canada.
The unbeaten Beterbiev will be the toughest challenge Smith has faced but has only ever been beaten by Canelo Alvarez before, which came in December 2020.
Smith, 33-years-old, has a great record when it comes to getting the key knockout blow to win.

From his 29 victories a staggering 21 of them has come via knockout, including his latest two which he seems to have used to bounce back from defeat to Alvarez.
With plenty of time between each fight and also the delay to this one he's had plenty of time to prepare and could be a decent price to cause an upset in the main event.
Beterbiev, 38, has cleaned up recently retaining and winning titles to become the unified champ.
In June 2022, he fought Joe Smith Jr in New York to claim the WBO light-heavyweight title to complete the set and after winning in Round 8 to Anthony Yarde in London, is facing another challenger to defend his crown.
