Deaf underdog boxer Julian Smith scores incredible knockout win over unbeaten Cuban prospect on Jake Paul’s MVP undercard

Julian Smith caused a huge shock as he knocked out Orestes Velazquez on Friday night in Orlando.
The 33-year-old American boxer is legally deaf, but does not let this prevent him from pursuing his fighting career.
Smith was brought in as he opponent for unbeaten 8-0 Cuban prospect Velazquez.
Their fight took place on one of Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions' show to develop young talent titled 'Most Valuable Prospects'.
However, Smith eradicated much of his Velazquez's value over the course of their fight.
This was despite the fact he entered as a huge 14-1 underdog.
Smith scored his first knockdown in the first round with an impressive one-two.
As a result, the bout soon became a battle as both men clearly desired victory.
It was Smith who secured it though, with two knockdowns in round nine prompting Velazquez's corner to stop the contest.
“A deaf person CAN make it happen,” he said post-fight, before sharing an emotional moment celebrating with his mother in the ring.
Velazquez is now 8-1 as a pro boxer and will have to rebuild if he is to become a serious contender.
Smith is 8-2 and will move forwards with huge confidence following the best win of his career to date.
