‘Still terrifying’ – Mike Tyson shows ferocious punching power and speed in recent training footage as Jake Paul fight announced

Mike Tyson proved he's definitely still got it in a recent training video, filmed just weeks before the announcement of his fight with Jake Paul.
Despite 40 years separating them, boxing icon Tyson showed why Paul should be very worried about facing 'The Baddest Man on the Planet'.
The 57-year-old has kept himself in peak, physical condition since returning to the ring for his exhibition bout against Roy Jones Jr in 2020.
Four years on and Tyson's next opponent has been announced as YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, with the pair meeting at the AT&T Stadium, Texas - home of the Dallas Cowboys - on July 20.
The huge showdown will be broadcast live on Netflix in the global streaming giants' first foray into the boxing world, but it will be under exhibition rules.
Both fighters are set to earn multi-millions from the bout, which is expected to attract a huge audience both in the arena and online.
The announcement has led to some criticism of Paul - including from rival KSI - for pursuing a match-up against, albeit one of the sport's all-time greats, an ex-fighter pushing 60.
However, most recent footage of Tyson sparring proved that age is just a number for 'Iron Mike', as he showed off his brutal punching power and speed in a pads workout session.
And in a video shared by coach Rafael Cordeiro on on February 14, Tyson showcased his trademark hooks, with fans left blown away by his ferocious power and speed.
Replying to the footage, one user said: "Dude is still a machine."
Another messaged: "Mike is a scary man."
A third added: "Even at an older age don’t think anyone would wanna mess with Tyson."
This person then remarked: "He is lightning. My favourite fighter of all time."
Meanwhile this fan simply stated: "Still terrifying."
It appears Paul will have to prepare to feel the full force of terrifying Tyson, who has declared he plans to 'finish him' when they meet in the ring in Texas.
It's a full circle moment for Paul, whose second professional fight was fought on the undercard of Tyson's exhibition with Jones Jr.
In terms of boxing pedigree, it's a complete mismatch, with the knockout king who became world champion as a 20-year-old taking on a former Disney Channel star who only had ten fights under his belt, and lost against Tommy Fury.
“I'm very much looking forward to stepping into the ring with Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas,” said Tyson after the fight was announced.
“He's grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT.
"It's a full circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch; as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones and now I plan to finish him.”
