Paul first burst on to the boxing scene in the influencer space, but he has now managed to secure a mega shot at the former undisputed champion, who is now aged 57.

His career began against fellow social media stars, but his first highlight-reel KO came on the undercard of Tyson's exhibition contest with Roy Jones Jr in 2020.

The 'Problem Child' took on Nate Robinson, which Tyson announced on his social media as the feature bout to his own surprise return.

Paul reposted the video at the time, with the caption: "MIKE TYSON SAID MY NAME!"

Things have now gone full circle however with Paul set to share the ring with 'Iron Mike', and he has since come back to the famous tweet.

In a reflective new post after announcing the fight, he wrote: "This tweet was 4 years ago.

"Crazy how things change. Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t do something."

Paul is clearly delighted with his latest opponent, as he adds Tyson to a long list of high-profile names that he has fought.

He has big plans for the future and has also began taking a more traditional route in the sport, as he intends to make a world title charge.

Fans suggest Mike Tyson could be 'in trouble' as new training footage emerges ahead of fight against Jake Paul on 20th July

Paul has faced a raft of criticism online for his fight with Tyson however, given the pair will compete with a 31-year age gap on the night.

Fans have already expressed their concern for the power-hitting legend, after training footage emerged of him working the heavy bag.

Despite the vocal opposition to the show, Paul has insisted he chose his dance partner due to the magnitude of the event.

He said: “In all seriousness Mike, it is such an honour and I couldn’t turn down the opportunity to step in the ring with one of the two most famous people to step in the boxing ring.

“Not only will this be the biggest fight of my life, but I think this has the opportunity to change the history of boxing, and be one of the biggest events of the 21st century.

"It is the biggest moment of my career and the biggest challenge. "That man is a beast, but I am not taking him lightly.

"July 20, I am hoping to make history and knock out Mike Tyson.”
