‘Jake Paul level of clowning’ – Carl Froch rips into John Fury after bloody altercation with member of Oleksandr Usyk’s team

Carl Froch has compared John Fury to Jake Paul after he headbutted a member of Oleksandr Usyk's team.
Tyson Fury's father John was present in Saudi Arabia as the 'Gypsy King' carried out media duties ahead of his historic tilt with Usyk for the undisputed titles on May 18.
But carnage descended on the groundbreaking event in just the first day of fight week, as Fury Sr headbutted Stanislav Stepchuk, a member of Usyk's team in a fiery altercation without the fighters.
Former super-middleweight champion Froch, who has previously been called out by Fury Sr, is not a fan of the Fury father's antics.
“He [John Fury] has overstepped the mark," Froch told Online Slots Real Money.
"We're having a go at John Fury now though. He was having a go at me before. He called me out and said he'll give me a kick up the a*** and give me a slap.
"It's a bit cringy the stuff he says. A lot of it is a bit close to the bone as well. It's borderline absurd and crude. I think, ‘come on John, think about what you're gonna say before you say it.’
"The fighting man that doesn't fight has caused trouble. I'm not surprised, he's been told to pipe down and keep out of the way on the build up to this.
"This is serious business boxing. And he's a clown sometimes. He's on Jake Paul's level with the clownage.”
The former boxer later apologised for his actions, which left him with a cut and blood splattered on his face.
In boxing, an undisputed world champion is someone who wins all of the four major world title belts in their division - WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO.
Fury currently has the WBC while Usyk holds the WBA, IBF and WBO. Therefore, the winner will hold all four belts as undisputed king.
The last man to hold all the belts in the division was Lennox Lewis when he beat Evander Holyfield to add his WBA and IBF titles to the WBC belt before what is now known as the 'four-belt era' with the WBO being recognised from 2004.
Comparisons to Paul are no surprise given the influencer has made waves in the sport for his brash personality, and entertaining stunts to promote his fights.
Froch and Paul have even traded verbal barbs, with George Groves' former conqueror even vowing to break his retirement and halt the career of the 'Problem Child'.
Fury Sr has a history of wild confrontations during his son's fights including when he confronted KSI and threw punches within a cage at his son Tommy's showdown with the YouTuber.
He has also now threatened to continue his physical altercations against former world champion Tony Bellew, and could well threaten to do the same to 'The Cobra' if they cross paths.
The Sheffield native had also previously taken aim at the WBC champion for his boxing resume, which left a sour taste in the mouth of Fury Sr.
But the undefeated Fury will be looking to once again prove critics wrong, and has got himself in superb shape for the historic outing.
A win will see him become the first undisputed heavyweight world champion in the four-belt era and the maiden to achieve the feat since Lennox Lewis in 1999.
Fury has altered his stance on the test of Usyk, having now acknowledged the achievements of his fellow undefeated champion.
He told : “I'm putting Usyk as the best man I've ever fought.
"Better than Wladimir Klitschko, better than Deontay Wilder, better than them all. Two-time, two-weight world champion and an Olympic gold medallist.
"I've been very impressed with all the stuff he's done. He boxed the head off Anthony Joshua, who was supposed to be a killer.
"He's done a good job with all the people he's fought.”
