Derek Chisora raises concern about Tyson Fury’s training camp due to cut eye ahead of Oleksandr Usyk fight

Derek Chisora claims Tyson Fury's sparring for his upcoming undisputed clash has been impacted by the cut he sustained in February.
Fury and Oleksandr Usyk were initially scheduled to square off on February 17 but their fight was pushed back after the Brit sustained a gash above his right eye in sparring that required 11 stitches.
The cut opened up after Fury was caught with an accidental elbow by Croatian heavyweight Agron Smakici in what he later described as a 'freak accident'.
Doctors assessed the cut and determined that postponing the fight until May 18 would give the wound adequate time to repair itself.
Yet Chisora believes it hasn't healed properly and has raised further concerns about how it may have affected the WBC champion's camp.
"The last time Tyson was here he was sparring and he got cut," Chisora told .
"I know for a fact, that thing hasn't healed properly, he hasn't been sparring so he's been doing more cardio.
"I think Oleksandr and his team are going to aim for that eye and that eye is going to open in round three or four and then that is going to start going mad.
"On top of that, he doesn't do well with southpaws."
Of course, this is pure speculation from a man who hasn't been training with Fury in the lead-up to fight night.
However, Chisora does bring a unique insight having fought both men in the paid ranks.
'Del Boy' has boxed Fury three times, losing their inaugural encounter back in 2011 via unanimous decision and their second and third fights (2014 and 2022) inside the distance.
Meanwhile, he was also Usyk's first real test at heavyweight when they duked it out in the Ukrainian's second fight in the glamour division four years ago.
Despite a bright start, he was ultimately outgunned over the distance and lost on points.
Earlier this year, Chisora and Usyk reunited for a sauna session.
Asked what sort of headspace the former undisputed cruiserweight champion was in when they shared some time together, Chisora replied: "The guy is nuts man.
"Let me explain something to you, Tyson is not nuts, Usyk is more nuts than Tyson.
"Everything that he does is to the death. For instance, if you remember when he boxed in Saudi versus AJ.
"If you remember his manager was saying, 'We don't know how to stop him because right now he gets on his bike in Dubai and he rides 100km in the sun'
"Is that a normal person? That is a crazy person. You can imagine what he went through in training.
"I was speaking to some of the guys and they were saying that his training has gone nuts, he can't stop.
"I want the British guy to win but he has to go all out [to do it]."
Fury vs Usyk is set to see the first undisputed heavyweight champion since 1999 crowned.
It's one of the biggest fights of recent times as these two titans of the sport finally come face-to-face on Saturday.
