Hamzah Sheeraz scored a stunning stoppage of Ammo Williams to give Frank Warren an unassailable lead.

Sheeraz went into his huge clash with Williams, knowing that a KO win would see Warren go 6-0 up in the 5 vs 5 tournament and kill Eddie Hearn's chances of picking up victory.

And it was Sheeraz who dropped his opponent in the eleventh, before a huge left hook saw the referee step in and close the show.

It put Warren 6-0 up in the tournament format with the unbeaten middleweight earning four points, with the two doubled for a stoppage.

It now left Hearn needing two KOs in the final two fights from Filip Hrgovic and Deontay Wilder against Daniel Dubois and Zhilei Zhang respectively to claw back a 6-6 draw.

Sheeraz was the first team captain of the night in action for Queensberry’s clique, and he started brightly against rugged and undefeated challenger Williams.

But it was the latter who landed the first huge shot of the contest landing a huge straight left hand, which saw the Briton clambering into the clinch in the second.

The American’s left counter looked extremely dangerous against the towering middleweight, but Sheeraz landed some thumping shots of his own in a dominant third.

Williams came out flying in a fourth as momentum swung back and forth, and the pair continued to trade off in an intriguing fifth.

Despite the close encounter, Sheeraz was able to establish control in spells with his super leading left jab keeping his rival at bay despite moments of adversity.

Damage showed on the right eye of Williams as the Briton began to show his qualities going beyond the midway point.

Sheeraz landed a huge right hook on the bell of the eleventh round, which saw Williams crumble to his knees but he recovered despite the knockdown.

He then closed the show as ‘Ammo’ ended up out on his feet after a ferocious left hook saw the referee step in and halt the contest in the final stanza.

It is a search for a shot at the world title now for Sheeraz with Janibek Alimkhanuly, Carlos Adames and Erislandy Lara potential options.

Sheeraz is a huge operator at middleweight and will know he is capable of big things, and could even eye a future move to 168lbs where Canelo Alvarez holds all four belts.
