‘KSI destroys them both’ – Boxing fans react as old footage of Jake Paul sparring Mike Perry resurfaces after fight announcement

A portion of boxing fans are just learning that Jake Paul has already shared the ring with his next opponent.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer was supposed to face Mike Tyson on July 20, but a medical issue forced the heavyweight legend out of their eagerly anticipated bout.
A new date of November 15 has been set for Paul’s fight with Tyson.
In the meantime, he’ll take a stay-busy bout against ex-UFC star Mike Perry.
On Tuesday, it was announced that ‘The Problem Child’ has booked Perry as a replacement opponent and will still fight on July 20 as planned.
Soon after, footage showing Paul’s history with the Bare-Knuckle boxing champion, who he sparred ahead of his fight with Ben Askren in 2021, resurfaced on social media.
Perry is seen pressing Paul into a corner and trying to connect with shots.
The former Disney actor was able to evade the punches and regain control of the centre of the ring in the brief snippet of what was a six-round sparring session
Still, it elicited some bold opinions from boxing fans, who started arguing about a potential fight between Paul and his long-time rival, KSI.
One person tweeted: “Is this real? KSI destroys them both.”
Another commented: “It’s when Jake started. KSI wouldn’t even fight him now.”
A third person said: “It was 4 years ago bro KSI doesn’t stand a chance against Jake so put your wee wee back in your pants.”
Someone else wrote: “KSI struggled with a debutee. Pipe down.”
KSI is currently preparing for a 2 vs 1 tag-team match against Slim Albaher and Anthony Taylor and talks about facing Paul have come to a standstill ahead of his ring return on August 31.
Logan Paul’s brother will have to be at his best to beat Perry, who has recently picked up wins over Luke Rockhold, Eddie Alvarez, and Michael ‘Venom’ Page.
Despite being called ‘light work’ after their spar, the 32-year-old insists that he got the better of Paul during their 18-minute tussle and is confident of doing it again next month.
“Jake Paul claims he fears no man, but on Saturday, July 20, the world will see the truth,” Perry said in a press release.
“He just made the worst mistake of his life in trying to get through me before Iron Mike.
“I’m going to make it look easy on Saturday, July 20th, and I’m going to teach Jake Paul the most he’s ever learned about fighting."
