‘Can’t believe I fought on’ – Andy Ruiz Jr reveals injury he suffered in Jarrell Miller clash as he shows off swollen hand

Andy Ruiz Jr has confirmed the extent of the injury he sustained during his comeback fight last weekend.
The former unified heavyweight champion boxed to a contentious majority draw against Jarrell Miller in his first fight back following a 23-month layoff.
Many believe Miller had done enough to get the nod, but in the end, two of the judges scored it 114-114 and 114-114, while a third had it 116-112 for 'Big Baby'.
In the immediate aftermath, Ruiz Jr insisted an injury to his right hand had hampered his performance and showed off his badly bruised fist to the cameras.
He has now taken to social media to confirm that he damaged his carpometacarpal (CMC) joint, which is found at the base of the thumb.
The injury can take several months to a year to recover from, depending on the type of injury and treatment.
Ruiz Jr didn't explicitly state what he had done to his CMC, but did share a video of his hand in a splint with the caption: “Can’t believe I fought through this for six or seven rounds.
"The hardest thing I ever had to do in my life without giving up. Thank you, God.”
He also shared another video of his badly swollen hand out of the splint with 'CMC joint' written in the top right-hand corner, accompanied by a broken heart emoji.
Speaking during his post-fight interview, Ruiz Jr said: "It was crazy, I hadn't fought in two years but I would love to do a rematch.
"Let's do it again. It was pretty exhausting. You've got a 300lb man coming at me throwing and throwing.
"I think I did pretty good for me doing the two-year-long layoff. Like I said, let's do it again.
"I hurt my right hand, you guys can see the bone right here. Let's do it again."
Ruiz Jr shocked the world in June 2019 when he knocked out Anthony Joshua to become WBA ‘super’, IBF and WBO heavyweight champion on short notice - before losing on points in their rematch.
Prior to his scrap with Miller, he defeated Chris Arreola and Luis Ortiz via unanimous decision.
He was supposed to fight Deontay Wilder last year in a WBC final eliminator bout, but nothing came to fruition.
Wilder subsequently blamed Ruiz Jr for pricing himself out of negotiations.
