Exclusive – Fury ready for Chisora fight despite frustrating year, insists trainer

Tyson Fury’s trainer insists the heavyweight is raring to go against Dereck Chisora after a frustrating 18 months.
Four of the pugilist’s last five fights have been called off due to injuries, and other factors, meaning the Manchester-born star has only had one bout since April 2013.
But Fury is now set to take on Chisora at the ExCeL Arena in a WBO heavyweight title eliminator and trainer Peter Fury, his uncle, believes he is all set to take on his rival.
“Tyson is in a good place because he knows this fight is going to go ahead and he’s ready,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast.
“It’s been a very frustrating time for us. We had two pullouts with David Haye and then we picked Dereck Chisora who, we knew, always comes to fight. Then something happened with his hand, which was unfortunate. So here we are, rescheduled and we’re just very happy to be here.
“When you’ve trained and you have peaked for ten weeks and, all of a sudden a fight falls through, its very demoralising. It’s going to be for anyone but he’s a professional, you get these things.”
You can listen to the fight between Tyson Fury and Dereck Chisora live and exclusively on talkSPORT on Saturday night.
