Tommy Fury set for talks over rematch after first fight left fans ‘divided’

Tommy Fury is inching closer to an in-ring return after surgery and it could be against a familiar face.
Fury went under the knife in January to fix an injury to his right hand he had been carrying since 2019.

But the former Love Island contestant, who recently had a high-profile break-up with Molly-Mae Hague, is back in training.
Fury stated in September he would like to return in December, although he insisted his main objective is returning to full fitness before stepping between the ropes again.
But once Fury does feel ready to fight, Misfits Boxing chief Mams Taylor will be ready and waiting at the negotiating table.

Along with being in charge of Misfits Boxing, Taylor is the manager of Fury's most recent rival, KSI.
Fury edged KSI in a hotly-debated unanimous decision victory in October last year to extend his record to 10-0.
However, the closeness of the fight left fans - and Taylor - hopeful of a second chapter between the two.

"And as far as KSI and Tommy, I think when the time is right, that rematch definitely should happen," Taylor said.
"Till this day people are still very divided about that result."

The loss to Fury was the first blemish on KSI's record after he'd beaten Logan Paul, English rapper Swarmz, Mexican boxer Luis Alcaraz Pineda and FaZe Temperrr.
KSI also beat Joe Fournier, but the result was later changed to a no-contest after it was ruled KSI landed an illegal elbow during his final flurry that decided the bout.
Like Fury, KSI has been sidelined for several months with a hand injury but is back in the gym preparing for an eventual return.

The YouTuber has also been linked with a fight against former unified super lightweight world champion Amir Khan.
Taylor confirmed negotiations had taken place between the camps and although Khan went quiet on him, he still believes there is a fight to be made.
"I spoke to Amir directly a few times," Taylor told talkSPORT in June.
"He showed interest and we got along really well. It looked like it was a possibility, but he kind of ghosted a bit and we needed to make a fight quickly.
"I think Amir realised, after getting in touch with his representatives, that it is a very likely deal to happen. It's going to take a little bit more time to put everything together, to cross the t's and dot the i's, but hopefully it can happen afterwards."
